Greetings from the Michigan Ross School of Business! The Global MBA Program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business was established for the unique purpose of nurturing high potential managers into global business leaders equipped with global perspective and cutting edge business knowledge. We clearly understand that the expectations of an experienced manager extend beyond the realm of traditional MBA programs. In addition to a solid MBA curriculum, managers expect diverse opportunities. Managers expect education with best-of-class training in all disciplines and functional areas -- from finance and marketing to corporate strategy and entrepreneurial studies. Managers expect to have the opportunity to develop a personal network with elite mangers from major international firms and with the faculty team. Managers expect to be exposed to global perspectives and trends shared by both the faculty and classmates. The Global MBA Program is carefully designed to meet these expectations by offering an essential balance of core skills, intellectual capital, and action-based learning.
We would like to extend an invitation to you to explore the program. The Class of 2015 will begin on February 23, 2014. We enthusiastically invite managers from around the world to take advantage of this prestigious program.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Exclusive Program The Global MBA Program is exclusively offered to those managers who have been targeted to lead their companies into the next generation. To maximize program effectiveness, application is limited to those who have won the support of their company. The Ross MBA The Ross MBA is consistently ranked as one of the best MBA programs in the world. All Ross MBA programs adhere to the same rigorous curriculum and requirements. All courses are taught by the distinguished Ross School of Business faculty. Ross' MBA offers the ability to select from more than 110 elective courses taught by experts in nine academic departments. Students may further broaden their experience by electing up to 10 hours of graduate study in other University of Michigan schools and colleges, performing independent research for credit, participating in our International Exchange Program, or taking advantage of one of our dual-degree programs.
Network Building The typical Global MBA class is made up of elite managers from more than 30 companies. The first term of our program begins in Asia where program participants complete the Ross core together, attend courses, and reside in corporate training centers along with faculty. This allows classmates to get to know each other and Ross faculty on a personal level. In the second term, the class moves to Ann Arbor for a 13-month stay where participants join more than 3,000 Ross students and more than 50,000 students, faculty, and staff who make up the culturally rich and diversified University of Michigan community. Upon graduation, students become members of the vast international Michigan alumni network which is one of the largest and most active alumni groups in the world.
Time Saving Schedule We understand that time is a valuable asset for managers and their sponsors. To minimize job absence of talented employees, our program omits the traditional summer vacation and completes in just 16 months. Graduates may continue their time in Ann Arbor to deepen their knowledge in their professional field by joining the post-degree research project for seven or 14 weeks.
Diverse Cultural Learning Our program offers an environment in which students have opportunities to learn from colleagues with different cultural backgrounds through courses in Asia and the U.S. The Class of 2015 will study in Japan, Korea, and China for one month each, followed by a one year session in Ann Arbor. While in Asia, the school offers tours in each country to facilitate opportunities for students to expand their understanding of local business, history, and culture. The final term of the program is devoted to a consulting project in which companies from around the world host student teams. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to explore and experience local cultures.
